The Wren House by the Sea will provide local wrens and other small song with a secluded nesting site. This beautify crafted wooden bird house is made from solid cypress and features a 1.5" wide copper trim on either side of the peak to provide a stylish appearance. There are grooves on the front to allow adult wrens easier access to the bird house and the 1-1/8" entrance hole prevents larger birds and predators from entering. The floor features a drainage slot to help keep the nesting cavity clean and dry. An eyelet screw is fastened in the center of the roof for quick and easy hanging. The convenient copper clean-out panel on the back of the bird house can be easily removed for seasonal cleaning. This handmade birdhouse comes fully assembled and may be post mounted.
This wooden bird house is properly sized to shelter house wrens. House wrens occupy the northern two-thirds of the United States and parts of Canada. They breed in forest edges, shrub lands, swamps, fields, farmlands and suburban parks. Wrens are social birds and will use nest boxes close to your house.
Most birds favor a steady house, but house wrens don't mind a little movement. This hanging wren house can be hung from a tree branch or bracket. Wrens are notorious for filling up any nest cavity they can find with twigs, regardless of whether they use the nest. Male house wrens will build several nests for the female to choose from. Hanging several nest boxes at eye level on partly sunlit tree limbs will increase your chances of attracting a mated pair.
